An excellent long-term locum opportunity is available for an experienced Neuro Occupational Therapist – Band 6 to join a specialist neurorehabilitation service in Birmingham. The role is suited to an Occupational Therapist with a strong background in neurological rehabilitation and experience supporting adults following a range of neurological conditions.

You will join an established multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and take responsibility for your own specialist caseload. The role will provide a varied clinical workload, with a focus on physical and cognitive rehabilitation, helping individuals regain function, maximise independence and achieve meaningful rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage adults presenting with a range of neurological conditions and complex neurological needs.
• Develop and deliver individualised rehabilitation and treatment programmes based on patient needs and goals.
• Complete comprehensive functional and cognitive assessments.
• Provide specialist upper limb assessment and rehabilitation.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt interventions in line with individual rehabilitation goals.
• Contribute to collaborative goal setting and discharge planning.
• Work effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Manage an independent specialist caseload.
• Support patients to regain function, improve independence and achieve meaningful outcomes.
• Maintain clear, accurate and timely clinical documentation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Neuro Occupational Therapist with a strong background in neurological rehabilitation. You will have confident neurological assessment and treatment skills and be comfortable managing a specialist caseload independently.

You will have experience in upper limb rehabilitation and be confident completing cognitive and functional assessments. Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills are essential, alongside experience supporting adults with complex neurological presentations.

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Previous experience working within neurorehabilitation.
• Strong neurological assessment and treatment skills.
• Experience with upper limb rehabilitation.
• Confidence completing cognitive and functional assessments.
• Ability to independently manage a specialist caseload.
• Experience supporting adults with complex neurological presentations.
• Strong multidisciplinary working and communication skills.
