NELFT is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join its Integrated Community Services in Redbridge. The role involves providing high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and short-term treatment and management programmes for adults presenting with a range of conditions who require community-based support.

The successful Occupational Therapist will work as an autonomous practitioner, managing a complex caseload and applying specialist Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills. Specialist experience in the rehabilitation of stroke and neurological patients is required, alongside the ability to contribute to complex clinical discussions and support junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and effective Occupational Therapy assessment for adults requiring community-based services.
• Develop and deliver short-term Occupational Therapy treatment and management programmes.
• Manage an allocated complex caseload as an autonomous practitioner.
• Apply specialist Occupational Therapy knowledge and clinical skills to assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.
• Provide specialist rehabilitation input for patients with stroke and neurological conditions.
• Attend and actively contribute to complex clinical discussion meetings regarding service users.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Integrated Community Services team.
• Provide management, guidance and support to junior staff.
• Complete accurate data collection and input using appropriate IT systems.
• Contribute to SSNAP audit requirements and associated data collection.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with service requirements.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist with strong community rehabilitation experience. You will be confident managing a complex caseload autonomously and applying specialist OT knowledge to adults with a range of conditions.

You will have specialist knowledge and experience in stroke and neurological rehabilitation, together with the confidence to contribute to complex clinical discussions. The ability to support junior colleagues and use IT systems effectively for data collection and clinical information is also essential.

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Relevant experience working as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist or equivalent.
• Experience working within a community-based Occupational Therapy service.
• Specialist knowledge and skills in stroke and neurological rehabilitation.
• Experience managing a complex caseload autonomously.
• Ability to contribute effectively to complex clinical discussion meetings.
• Experience supporting and managing junior staff.
• Essential IT skills for data collection and input.
• Knowledge of SSNAP audits.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning and organisational skills.
