About the Role

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Advanced Physiotherapist – Band 7 to join the Intensive Rehabilitation & Therapy Service at NELFT’s Goodmayes Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Physiotherapist to work within a rapid response and community-based service, providing urgent physiotherapy assessment and treatment to help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and support patients safely in their own homes.

The successful Physiotherapist will respond rapidly to referrals where patients are experiencing an acute decline in function or mobility, completing comprehensive assessments and delivering timely rehabilitation interventions designed to maximise independence and reduce deterioration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent physiotherapy assessment and treatment within community settings.
  • Respond rapidly to referrals for patients experiencing acute functional or mobility decline.
  • Assess mobility, balance, strength, transfers and falls risk.
  • Develop and implement immediate management and rehabilitation plans to support patients safely at home.
  • Deliver timely rehabilitation interventions to maximise independence and prevent deterioration.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide a coordinated crisis response.
  • Facilitate early supported discharge where appropriate.
  • Support the prevention of unnecessary hospital admission and hospital readmission.
  • Recommend appropriate equipment, exercise programmes and environmental adaptations to reduce risk and promote independence.
  • Provide patients and carers with education, advice and self-management strategies.
  • Agree meaningful rehabilitation goals with patients and their carers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Contribute to service performance monitoring and positive clinical outcomes.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Band 7 Physiotherapist who is comfortable working within a fast-paced community and rapid response environment.

You will have strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills and be able to make timely decisions when supporting patients experiencing an acute decline in mobility or function.

You will be confident working autonomously while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver coordinated care and support patients to remain safely at home wherever appropriate.

Requirements

  • Relevant Physiotherapy qualification.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Post-qualification experience as a Physiotherapist.
  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Experience within community Physiotherapy is preferred.
  • Experience within a rapid response, urgent care or rehabilitation setting is desirable.
  • Strong experience assessing mobility, balance, strength, transfers and falls risk.
  • Ability to develop and implement timely rehabilitation and management plans.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving licence and own car are essential.
  • Ability to travel across Redbridge, Havering and Barking & Dagenham as required.

Working Across the Community

This is a community-based role covering three London boroughs: Redbridge, Havering and Barking & Dagenham. A full driving licence and access to your own car are therefore essential.
