About the Role
Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the stroke service at Northwick Park Hospital. This is an ongoing locum opportunity starting in November, ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in stroke rehabilitation.
The successful Occupational Therapist will work on stroke wards, providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to support patients during their rehabilitation journey. You will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team to promote functional recovery, independence and safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to patients on stroke wards.
- Complete functional assessments to identify patients’ occupational needs and rehabilitation goals.
- Develop and deliver appropriate Occupational Therapy treatment programmes.
- Support patients to maximise independence and functional ability following stroke.
- Contribute to safe and effective discharge planning.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Provide appropriate advice and recommendations regarding ongoing rehabilitation, equipment and support needs.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and NHS standards.
- Manage a clinical caseload effectively and prioritise patient needs according to clinical requirements.
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist with relevant experience working with patients following stroke. You will be able to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
You will have strong assessment, rehabilitation and discharge-planning skills, together with a patient-centred approach and the ability to manage a busy acute caseload.
Requirements
- Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working as an Occupational Therapist within an NHS or equivalent clinical setting.
- Relevant experience working with stroke patients.
- Experience of assessment, rehabilitation and functional intervention.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a clinical caseload.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred Occupational Therapy.
