Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join the standalone Occupational Therapy service at Falkirk Council. This ongoing locum opportunity offers the chance to focus on core Occupational Therapy practice, with no responsibility for care support planning, ASP or respite services.

The role has a specific focus on manual handling, equipment provision, major adaptations and specialist seating. You will use your Occupational Therapy expertise to assess individual needs and provide appropriate recommendations to support independence, safety and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention as part of a standalone OT service.
• Undertake assessments relating to manual handling needs and provide appropriate professional recommendations.
• Assess and recommend appropriate Occupational Therapy equipment to meet individual needs.
• Assess and make recommendations for major adaptations where required.
• Undertake specialist seating assessments and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Apply Occupational Therapy knowledge to identify practical solutions that support independence and safe participation in daily activities.
• Provide a focused Occupational Therapy service without responsibility for care support planning, ASP or respite services.

About You

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is confident undertaking core OT assessments and interventions, particularly around manual handling, equipment, major adaptations and specialist seating.

You will be able to work effectively within a standalone Occupational Therapy service and apply professional judgement when identifying appropriate equipment, adaptations and specialist seating solutions to meet individual needs.

Requirements

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with appropriate professional registration.
• Relevant Occupational Therapy experience.
• Experience of manual handling assessments and interventions.
• Experience assessing and recommending Occupational Therapy equipment.
• Experience with major adaptations.
• Experience or knowledge of specialist seating.
• Ability to work autonomously within a standalone Occupational Therapy service.
• Strong professional judgement and communication skills.
