Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join the Disability Resource Team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This locum opportunity offers an excellent role for a senior Occupational Therapist with strong children’s equipment and adaptations experience, alongside the ability to manage complex cases involving children with primarily hidden disabilities.

The successful candidate will have line management responsibility for the Disability Resource Team and will be expected to provide effective leadership and professional oversight. The post holder will also deputise for the team manager when required, while maintaining responsibility for a complex caseload.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide line management responsibility for the Disability Resource Team.
• Manage a complex caseload involving children with primarily hidden disabilities.
• Undertake appropriate Occupational Therapy assessments and provide professional recommendations in relation to children’s equipment and adaptations.
• Apply specialist Occupational Therapy knowledge to identify appropriate solutions that support children and their families.
• Provide professional leadership and support within the Disability Resource Team.
• Deputise for the team manager when required, supporting the effective operation of the service.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and relevant professionals to ensure appropriate support and outcomes for children and families.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Lead Occupational Therapist who has specialist experience working with children and a strong understanding of equipment and adaptations. You will be comfortable managing complex cases and applying your professional judgement to children with primarily hidden disabilities.

You will have the leadership skills required to undertake line management responsibilities and the confidence to deputise for the team manager when required. Strong communication, organisation and clinical decision-making skills will be important in this role.

Requirements

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
• Significant Occupational Therapy experience relevant to children’s services.
• Essential experience of children’s equipment and adaptations.
• Experience managing complex cases involving children with primarily hidden disabilities.
• Experience or capability in undertaking line management responsibilities.
• Ability to deputise for a team manager when required.
• Strong professional judgement and communication skills.
