Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Derbyshire County Council within East Midlands Social Services. This ongoing locum opportunity is based within a fast-paced Reablement Team covering the Derbyshire Dales.

The successful Occupational Therapist will support disabled people to live as independently as possible within their communities. The role focuses on promoting maximum independence across the physical, psychological, social and economic aspects of daily life, while maintaining high standards of professional Occupational Therapy practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy input within a fast-paced Reablement Team covering the Derbyshire Dales.
• Support disabled people to live as independently as possible within their communities.
• Assess and support individuals to maximise independence across the physical, psychological, social and economic aspects of their lives.
• Identify appropriate Occupational Therapy approaches to support independent living and meaningful outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other relevant professionals to support effective community-based care and reablement.
• Provide and maintain high standards of professional Occupational Therapy practice.
• Ensure practice is delivered in accordance with relevant professional standards, policies and service requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who can work confidently within a fast-paced reablement environment. You will be committed to promoting independence and supporting disabled people to achieve the greatest possible level of independence within their community.

You should have strong professional Occupational Therapy skills and be able to work effectively within a community-based team, balancing individual needs with appropriate reablement-focused interventions.

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working within Occupational Therapy services, ideally within social care, community or reablement settings.
• Understanding of reablement and approaches that promote independence.
• Ability to assess individual needs and support positive functional outcomes.
• Strong communication and collaborative working skills.
• Ability to maintain high standards of professional Occupational Therapy practice.
