Community Equipment Service Therapist – Part Time

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Community Equipment Service Therapist for a part-time locum opportunity with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Working within West Midlands Social Services, you will provide clinical oversight of equipment requests and support the safe and appropriate provision of equipment to service users.

This specialist role would suit an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with strong clinical assessment skills and an interest in equipment provision. You will review clinical information submitted by prescribers, provide professional scrutiny of equipment requests, and support the preparation of equipment for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review clinical information provided in support of equipment requests.
  • Provide clinical oversight and professional scrutiny of equipment requests submitted by prescribers.
  • Consider clinical information to support appropriate equipment provision.
  • Support the safe and effective preparation of equipment for delivery.
  • Apply professional clinical judgement when reviewing equipment requests.
  • Work collaboratively with prescribers and relevant colleagues within the Community Equipment Service.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation relating to equipment provision.

About You

You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with strong clinical knowledge and the ability to review and interpret clinical information. You will be confident applying professional judgement when considering equipment requests and working collaboratively with prescribers.

Previous experience working with equipment would be advantageous, although the key requirement is strong clinical expertise and the ability to provide appropriate oversight of equipment provision.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • Current professional registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret clinical information relating to equipment requests.
  • Ability to provide professional clinical oversight and scrutiny.
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills.
  • Desirable: Previous experience working with community equipment or equipment provision.
