Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist for a Band 6 locum opportunity with NELFT, working within the Red MH & Wellness Team West. Based in the North East London NHS, this role offers the opportunity to provide specialist Occupational Therapy input within a Mental Health and Wellness service.
The successful candidate will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, using their Occupational Therapy expertise to support service users and contribute to high-quality, person-centred mental health provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within the Mental Health & Wellness Team.
- Support service users to identify meaningful goals and promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery.
- Apply Occupational Therapy expertise to assess functional needs and identify appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to provide coordinated, person-centred care.
- Contribute to the development and review of appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions based on individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with professional and service requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and relevant professional development activities.
- Manage allocated clinical responsibilities effectively within the service.
About You
You will be an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist with the confidence and clinical skills to work within a Mental Health and Wellness setting. You will have a person-centred approach and be committed to supporting recovery, independence, and positive outcomes.
You will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and be confident managing your professional responsibilities within a busy NHS service.
Requirements
- Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working as an Occupational Therapist within an NHS setting.
- Experience or strong understanding of Occupational Therapy within mental health services is desirable.
- Strong assessment, intervention, and clinical reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Commitment to person-centred and recovery-focused practice.
