Job Overview
Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, based in Ludlow, within the West Midlands NHS.
This is an ongoing locum opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to provide a high-quality, seamless Occupational Therapy service across acute or community hospital and community settings. You will work as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team, delivering responsive and person-centred care that reflects the needs of the local population.
The role requires a full driving licence and access to your own car, with flexibility to travel between Ludlow and Bishops Castle community services according to service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service across acute, community hospital and community settings.
- Deliver seamless Occupational Therapy support as service users transition between hospital and community environments.
- Assess individuals’ occupational performance, functional abilities and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop and implement appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions to support independence and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
- Respond effectively to the needs of the local population and changing service demands.
- Support safe and effective transitions from hospital to community services.
- Communicate effectively with service users, carers and other health and social care professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional and NHS requirements.
- Travel to Ludlow and Bishops Castle community settings as required by the service.
- Contribute to the delivery of responsive, patient-centred community rehabilitation services.
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist who can work effectively across hospital and community environments and provide high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy.
You will be able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team. Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside the flexibility to travel between community locations in response to service needs.
Requirements
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
- Experience working within acute, community hospital or community Occupational Therapy services.
- Ability to undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide a responsive and seamless service across hospital and community settings.
- Full driving licence and access to your own car.
- Flexibility to travel to Bishops Castle and Ludlow according to service requirements.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred Occupational Therapy.
