Senior Occupational Therapist – Telecare Team

 

Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Telecare Team at Bolton Council, within North West Social Services.

 

This is an exciting ongoing locum opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for adults. The role involves undertaking assessments and reviews of need under the Care Act 2014, alongside providing professional advice around equipment, adaptations and practical techniques that can help people remain safe and independent.

 

You will work collaboratively across health and social care services, helping to develop innovative approaches that improve the experience of service users and carers. The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to wider service delivery and support colleagues across other areas of the service when required.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments and reviews of need in accordance with the Care Act 2014.
  • Assess individuals’ functional needs, strengths, risks and barriers to independence.
  • Provide professional advice on appropriate equipment, adaptations, techniques and support.
  • Make recommendations that promote safety, wellbeing and independence.
  • Provide support to service users and carers as necessary to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Identify and link individuals with appropriate universal, community and voluntary services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across health and social care to provide coordinated support.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of innovative approaches and ways of working.
  • Support improvements in the experience and outcomes of service users and carers.
  • Assist colleagues within other areas of the service when required.
  • Develop, maintain and improve effective relationships with service users and carers.
  • Participate effectively in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team working.

 

About You

 

We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist who can demonstrate strong assessment and professional reasoning skills within adult social care.

 

You will have a person-centred approach and be confident working with service users and carers to identify practical solutions that promote independence and wellbeing. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, alongside the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

 

The successful candidate will also be proactive and innovative, with an interest in developing new ways of working across health and social care to improve outcomes for individuals and their carers.

 

Requirements

 

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
  • Significant experience working as an Occupational Therapist within adult social care or a related setting.
  • Experience undertaking assessments and reviews of need under the Care Act 2014.
  • Knowledge and experience of equipment, adaptations and techniques that promote independence.
  • Ability to assess risk and make appropriate professional recommendations.
  • Understanding of person-centred approaches to promoting wellbeing and independence.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with service users and carers.
  • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across health, social care, universal and voluntary services.
  • Commitment to service improvement and developing innovative approaches to care and support.
