Occupational Therapist – Band 7 (Individual Shifts)

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist to provide locum shift cover for Brainkind (formerly The Disabilities Trust) at West Heath House, Birmingham. This ongoing opportunity is available to cover annual leave and offers flexible individual shifts within a specialist neurological rehabilitation setting.

This role is ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, and complex rehabilitation needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy interventions that maximise independence and improve quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for adults with complex neurological rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop and implement person-centred treatment programmes that promote independence and functional recovery.
  • Assess functional abilities, mobility, cognition, and activities of daily living.
  • Recommend appropriate therapeutic interventions, equipment, and environmental adaptations where required.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver coordinated rehabilitation programmes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals to support positive rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice in line with HCPC standards and organisational policies.
  • Provide flexible annual leave cover while maintaining continuity of care for service users.

About You

You will be a HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience working in neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury services, complex rehabilitation, or a related clinical setting. You will be adaptable, organised, and confident working within a multidisciplinary environment.

Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and person-centred practice are essential, together with the ability to provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services during individual shift assignments.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working as a Band 7 Occupational Therapist or at an equivalent level.
  • Experience within neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, or complex rehabilitation services is desirable.
  • Strong assessment, rehabilitation, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to patient-centred care.
  • Flexibility to provide annual leave cover on individual shifts.
