Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within the East Midlands. Based at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Stanford Hall, this role sits within the specialist Neuro Rehabilitation Service, providing expert assessment and rehabilitation for patients with complex neurological conditions.

Working as part of a consultant-led multidisciplinary team, you will deliver specialist Occupational Therapy interventions to patients with a range of neurological diagnoses, helping them maximise independence, improve cognitive and functional abilities, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with neurorehabilitation experience looking to work within a nationally recognised specialist rehabilitation service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and treatment for patients with complex neurological conditions.
• Assess and manage patients presenting with complex cognitive, physical, and functional impairments.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based, person-centred rehabilitation programmes.
• Work collaboratively within a consultant-led multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
• Manage and prioritise an independent clinical caseload while contributing to departmental service delivery.
• Support the organisation and implementation of specialist neurological Occupational Therapy services.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and evidence-based practice.
• Promote compliance with national standards, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide specialist clinical advice and support to Occupational Therapy colleagues, students, multidisciplinary team members, and external organisations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records in accordance with HCPC and organisational standards.

About You

You will be an experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a strong background in neurological rehabilitation. You will be confident assessing and treating patients with complex neurological presentations while working effectively within a specialist multidisciplinary team.

You will possess excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills, together with a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation and contributing to continuous service improvement.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Relevant UK Occupational Therapy experience.
• Experience working within neurological rehabilitation services.
• Experience assessing and treating patients with complex neurological and cognitive conditions.
• Strong rehabilitation planning and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a specialist caseload independently.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and advisory skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and service development.
