Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within Berkshire Social Services. Based with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, this role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality Occupational Therapy and Reablement services to adults with physical disabilities and age-related conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Adult Social Care team committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based services that promote independence, recovery, and improved quality of life. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals, you will complete outcome-focused assessments and interventions that enable people to remain safe and independent within their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with physical disabilities and age-related conditions.
  • Provide professional Occupational Therapy and Reablement interventions in line with statutory Adult Social Care responsibilities.
  • Develop person-centred, strengths-based support plans that promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery.
  • Assess functional ability and recommend appropriate equipment, assistive technology, and environmental adaptations.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals, carers, health professionals, and partner agencies to coordinate effective care and support.
  • Support people to achieve meaningful outcomes while reducing reliance on long-term services where appropriate.
  • Manage a varied community caseload, prioritising work according to clinical need.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records and professional documentation.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality Adult Social Care services and continuous service improvement.

About You

You will be an experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a strong background in Adult Social Care or community-based Occupational Therapy. You will be passionate about delivering strengths-based, outcome-focused interventions that enable adults to live as independently as possible.

You will possess excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills, together with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and their carers.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care or Community Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience undertaking functional assessments and delivering outcome-focused interventions.
  • Knowledge of Reablement principles and strengths-based practice.
  • Experience working with adults with physical disabilities and age-related conditions.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage an independent caseload.
