Occupational Therapist – Adult Disability (2 Roles)

Job Overview

We are recruiting two experienced Occupational Therapists to join a busy Adult Disability Team within Hertfordshire Social Services. This is an excellent locum opportunity for Occupational Therapists who are passionate about enabling adults with disabilities to maximise their independence, improve their quality of life, and remain safely within their communities.

You will work with adults who have a range of physical disabilities, long-term health conditions and complex needs, carrying out person-centred occupational therapy assessments and recommending appropriate interventions to promote independence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with disabilities and complex needs.
• Develop and implement person-centred intervention plans to maximise independence and safety.
• Assess for and recommend appropriate equipment, adaptations and moving and handling solutions.
• Complete functional assessments and review the effectiveness of interventions.
• Work collaboratively with service users, carers, families and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed in line with professional standards.
• Manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary working to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

About You

You will be a proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapist with excellent assessment and problem-solving skills. You will be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Professional Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the HCPC.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working within Adult Social Care or Adult Disability Services.
• Knowledge of occupational therapy assessments, equipment provision and adaptations.
• Understanding of relevant adult social care legislation and person-centred practice.
• Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively.
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
