Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist for an exciting locum opportunity within South London NHS. Working across community and hospital settings within Croydon Health Services, this role sits within the Integrated Neurology Team, providing specialist rehabilitation for adults with neurological conditions, including stroke.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Physiotherapist with community neurology experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality rehabilitation. Working under the clinical supervision of a Band 7 Physiotherapist, you will manage a varied neurological caseload across multiple settings, supporting patients to maximise independence and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for adults with neurological conditions, including stroke.
  • Manage a varied rehabilitation caseload across community and hospital settings.
  • Develop and deliver personalised, evidence-based rehabilitation programmes to maximise functional independence.
  • Work autonomously while receiving professional support and supervision from a Band 7 Physiotherapist.
  • Carry out home visits and community-based assessments, alongside work within hospital and outpatient settings.
  • Contribute to safe and effective discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation pathways.
  • Work collaboratively within the Integrated Neurology multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Provide education, advice, and support to patients, families, and carers.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with HCPC and NHS standards.
  • Participate in service development and contribute to the delivery of high-quality neurological rehabilitation services.

About You

You will be an experienced HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with a strong background in neurological rehabilitation and community-based practice. You will be confident working independently, managing a diverse caseload, and delivering specialist rehabilitation to people recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions.

You will possess excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills, together with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team across a variety of healthcare settings.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Essential experience in neurological rehabilitation.
  • Essential experience working with people following stroke.
  • Essential community physiotherapy experience.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently across community and hospital environments.
