Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting two experienced Occupational Therapists for exciting locum opportunities within West London Social Services. Based with Hammersmith and Fulham Council, these roles sit within the Complex Occupational Therapy Team, supporting adults with complex physical, neurological, psychological, emotional, behavioural, and age-related needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist Occupational Therapy service delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and safe community living. Alongside managing a complex caseload, you will provide leadership, mentoring, and clinical support to unqualified staff while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex Occupational Therapy caseload involving individuals with multiple physical, neurological, psychological, emotional, behavioural, and age-related conditions.
  • Undertake comprehensive functional assessments to identify needs, risks, and appropriate interventions.
  • Assess and advise residents on all aspects of daily living to maximise independence and quality of life.
  • Recommend and arrange specialist equipment, assistive technology, and minor or major housing adaptations.
  • Develop person-centred intervention plans that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and professional support to unqualified members of the Occupational Therapy Team.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Workers, health professionals, housing teams, and partner agencies to coordinate effective care.
  • Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and associated social care and housing legislation, within professional practice.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records, reports, and assessments.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the delivery of high-quality Occupational Therapy services.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in Adult Social Care and managing complex community caseloads. You will be confident working autonomously while providing leadership and support to colleagues within a multidisciplinary environment.

You will possess excellent assessment, communication, and clinical reasoning skills, together with a thorough understanding of relevant social care legislation and a commitment to delivering strengths-based, person-centred practice.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care or Community Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience managing complex Occupational Therapy caseloads.
  • Knowledge of equipment provision, assistive technology, moving and handling, and housing adaptations.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986, Children Act 1989, NHS and Community Care Act 1990, Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
  • Experience mentoring, supervising, or supporting junior or unqualified staff.
  • Excellent assessment, report-writing, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
