Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist – Band 6 for a locum role within West Midlands NHS. This position is based within the CAMHS Eating Disorders Service (CEDS), supporting children and young people with eating disorders through specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions.

The Occupational Therapist will work within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team, supporting assessment, care planning, and treatment delivery within an eating disorders model, including support for young people presenting with ARFID and other complex eating disorder needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the CAMHS Eating Disorders Service with specialist occupational therapy assessments.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions within an eating disorders treatment model.
• Support care planning and ongoing treatment delivery for children and young people.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals within CAMHS services.
• Provide support for young people presenting with ARFID and related conditions.
• Contribute to person-centred, evidence-based care and rehabilitation planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Support positive clinical outcomes and recovery-focused interventions.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with specialist experience working within 
Children and Young People (CYP) services and Eating Disorders. You will demonstrate strong 
clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work effectively within specialist CAMHS multidisciplinary teams.

You will be confident supporting complex mental health presentations, including ARFID, while delivering 
high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working with Children and Young People (CYP).
• Experience within Eating Disorders services (essential).
• Experience supporting ARFID presentations and multidisciplinary working.
• Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work effectively within specialist CAMHS settings.

Contract & Salary

• Role: Occupational Therapist – Band 6
• Sector: West Midlands NHS
• Contract Type: Locum
• Contract Length: Ongoing (initially reviewed after 8 weeks)
• Working Pattern: Part time – 3 days per week
• Salary: Negotiable
