Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within Yorkshire Social Services. This position focuses on delivering specialist social care occupational therapy project work, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, neurodiversity, and dysregulation.

The Occupational Therapist will work closely with clients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to assess needs, develop strengths-based support plans, and promote independence and wellbeing through person-centred interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with clients and carers to assess physiological, psychological, environmental, and social needs.
• Develop strengths-based and outcome-focused intervention plans.
• Manage an individual caseload, supporting people to maintain and develop independent living skills.
• Support individuals in complex situations where there may be significant risks without intervention.
• Co-produce support plans that promote wellbeing, dignity, and independence.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using Council IT systems.
• Work within administrative and financial procedures and service policies.
• Collaborate with housing, rehabilitation, assistive technology, and health teams.
• Support opportunities to enhance client independence through multidisciplinary working.
• Provide mentoring and support to colleagues and students as experience develops.
• Participate in regular supervision and peer support.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in 
social care, learning disabilities, and mental health services. You will demonstrate 
strong clinical reasoning skills and a person-centred, strengths-based approach to practice.

You will have a good understanding of neurodiversity and dysregulation, alongside the 
ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working within social care occupational therapy services.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
• Understanding of neurodiversity and dysregulation.
• Strong communication, organisational, and caseload management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
