Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting a Specialist Physiotherapist – Band 6 for a locum role within Sussex NHS. This position sits within the Hospital Rapid Discharge Team, supporting timely and safe patient discharge from acute hospital settings.
The Physiotherapist will work within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment, delivering assessments and rehabilitation interventions to support patient flow, recovery, and safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention within the Hospital Rapid Discharge Team.
- Support safe and timely discharge planning from acute hospital settings.
- Deliver rehabilitation interventions to maximise patient independence and recovery.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge pathways.
- Assess mobility, function, and rehabilitation needs of patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with NHS standards.
- Contribute to patient-centred care and effective discharge outcomes.
About You
You will be an experienced Physiotherapist with a background in acute hospital, rehabilitation, or discharge services. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work effectively within fast-paced multidisciplinary teams.
You will be confident managing rehabilitation and discharge-focused caseloads while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience within acute hospital or discharge rehabilitation services desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
