Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North London Social Services. This position sits within the Independence and Access service, supporting people with disabilities to maximise independence, safety, and choice within the community.
The Occupational Therapist will carry out strengths-based assessments, provide advice and guidance, and recommend appropriate equipment and adaptations to support individuals and carers in achieving positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with people with disabilities to promote independence and choice within the community.
- Carry out strengths-based occupational therapy assessments.
- Support individuals to maximise independence and wellbeing.
- Provide effective advice and guidance following assessment.
- Assess and recommend appropriate equipment and home adaptations.
- Undertake carers’ assessments and reviews in line with statutory and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with policies and professional standards.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within
adult social care or community services. You will demonstrate strong assessment and
clinical reasoning skills, alongside a strengths-based and person-centred approach to practice.
You will be confident supporting individuals and carers to access appropriate services, equipment, and
adaptations that promote independence and safe living.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience within adult social care or community occupational therapy services.
- Experience with equipment provision and adaptations.
- Ability to undertake strengths-based assessments and carers’ assessments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to adult social care.
