Job Title:  Specialist Physiotherapist – Band 6
Location:  North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust – Sands Centre, Carlisle

Job details: Specialist Physiotherapist required to join Musculoskeletal Team for 3 months. JD available on request:

  • To practice in accordance with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Rules of Professional Conduct and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Regulations.
  • To work autonomously with a caseload of increasingly complex patients undertaking assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and providing appropriate advice.
  • To work as an experienced physiotherapist within an outpatient environment, including assessment and management using video and/ or telephone consultations
  • To consolidate and build upon postgraduate experience, clinical skills and knowledge through CPD, participation in a structured IST programme, self-directed learning and specialist post graduate courses.
  • To assess, determine clinical diagnosis, and to develop and implement specialist treatment plans for patients with increasing clinical complexity within hospital and community settings.
  • To perform comprehensive physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, complex physical and psychological conditions and multi?pathologies using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. This may include interpretation and analysis of clinical and non – clinical information and investigations.
  • Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with all patients.
  • To communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and other professionals to ensure an integrated approach to care.
  • To provide education, support and training to physiotherapy colleagues, students and other healthcare professionals.
  • To undertake audit and participate in research activities as appropriate

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 16.30.
