Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within Suffolk Social Services. This position focuses on delivering assessments and reviews across adult social care, supporting service efficiency and reducing waiting lists across the Directorate.
The Occupational Therapist will undertake proactive assessments, reviews, and triage, ensuring safe and timely delivery of services. The role involves supporting care package reviews, moving and handling assessments, and working collaboratively with health and social care partners to improve outcomes and optimise resource use.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments and reviews across the directorate.
- Support triage processes and contribute to reducing waiting lists.
- Review care packages to ensure effective and appropriate use of services.
- Undertake moving and handling assessments and support safe practice.
- Review double-handed care packages and waking night support arrangements.
- Provide guidance to external care providers on safe and effective care delivery.
- Work collaboratively with health and social care teams to reduce duplication of services.
- Support delivery of front-line occupational therapy services.
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with statutory requirements.
- Provide support across other occupational therapy areas as required.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within
adult social care services. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and the ability
to manage assessments and reviews efficiently within a busy service.
You will be confident working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external providers,
supporting safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience within adult social care services.
- Experience in moving and handling assessments.
- Ability to undertake care package reviews and assessments.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Strong communication, organisational, and documentation skills.

- Working Pattern: Hybrid (2–3 days office-based, 2 days home working)
- Salary: £35 per hour (umbrella)
