Reablement Occupational Therapist
Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting a Reablement Occupational Therapist for a locum role within
North West Social Services. This position supports the Reablement Service, helping individuals
regain independence and confidence in their daily activities following illness, injury, or changes in health.
Working within a city-wide service, the Occupational Therapist will carry out functional assessments, develop
goal-focused rehabilitation plans, and work closely with Reablement Support Workers to support individuals in
their own homes and communities. The role focuses on promoting independence through a restorative approach to
assessment and intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments within the Reablement Service.
- Develop clear, person-centred goals to support individuals in regaining independence.
- Deliver rehabilitation and restorative interventions to support daily living activities.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and adaptations to support safe and independent living.
- Work collaboratively with Reablement Support Workers and other professionals to deliver coordinated care.
- Manage and prioritise a caseload while delivering timely outcomes for service users.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within rehabilitation,
reablement, or restorative services. You will demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills, enabling
you to manage assessments, set clear goals, and support individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes.
You will also be confident working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and reablement support staff
to deliver practical, person-centred solutions that support independence within the community.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience using a rehabilitation or restorative approach to functional assessment.
- Experience recommending equipment and adaptations.
- Experience setting and delivering goal-based rehabilitation outcomes.
- Full driving licence and access to a car due to the city-wide nature of the role.
