Team Manager

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Team Manager for a locum role within 
North West London Social Services. This position sits within the 
First Response Team, providing leadership and operational oversight 
for social care services supporting children and families.

The Team Manager will lead a team of Social Workers, Senior Practitioners, and other 
social care professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children 
in need, including those requiring protection, children looked after, and children 
subject to care proceedings. The role focuses on ensuring that statutory duties are 
met, safeguarding standards are maintained, and services are delivered in line with 
organisational priorities and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of Social Workers, Senior Practitioners, and social care staff within the First Response Team.
• Ensure effective delivery of services to children in need, including those requiring protection or involved in care proceedings.
• Provide leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality social work practice across the team.
• Support children looked after and those subject to public or private law proceedings where directed by the court.
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with statutory responsibilities, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor team performance to ensure key service and safeguarding targets are achieved.
• Ensure services are delivered efficiently and within agreed operational and financial priorities.
• Support effective decision-making and case oversight to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

About You

You will be an experienced social care professional with a strong background in children’s 
services and safeguarding practice. You will have experience supervising social work staff and leading 
teams within statutory children’s services.

You will demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills, ensuring that services are delivered 
in line with statutory frameworks and that team members are supported to maintain high standards of 
professional practice.

Requirements

• Experience managing or supervising staff within children’s social care services.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory responsibilities within children’s services.
• Experience overseeing cases involving children in need, children looked after, and court proceedings.
• Ability to monitor and manage service performance and operational priorities.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
