Job Title: Occupational Therapist

 

Location: Rutland County Council – Catmose, Oakham

Area: East Midlands Social Services

Salary: £negotiable

Job Type: Locum

Job details:

 

  •  
    • Provide a range of Occupational Therapy interventions for adults and children to support independence at home
       

    • Assess adults and children with disabilities and arrange equipment and adaptations, including major adaptations
       

    • Undertake risk assessments of complex moving and handling situations and develop management plans
       

    • Ensure active involvement of service users and carers in assessments, support plans and accessing Direct Payments
       

    • Identify and demonstrate assistive technologies to ensure safe use
       

    • Maintain accurate and timely assessment, monitoring and review records
       

    • Ensure systems are updated and support statistical data collection
       

    • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and provide professional guidance to Social Workers
       

    • Work in an integrated way with health and social care professionals to ensure seamless transitions
       

    • Actively engage with service developments and ongoing professional development

     

    Working arrangements:

     

    •  
      • Hybrid working available
         

      • Minimum of 2 office-based days per week (visits can be undertaken on these days)

       

      Skills / experience required:

       

      •  
        • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
           

        • HCPC registration
           

        • Experience in adult social care or adult health environments
           

        • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
           

        • Understanding of the Care Act 2014 and health and social care legislation
           

        • Ability to undertake holistic therapy assessments and risk assessments
           

        • Strong professional judgement in planning and evaluating care
           

        • Experience devising and implementing reablement goals and plans
           

        • Strong written and verbal communication skills
           

        • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies
           

        • Strong organisational and workload prioritisation skills
           

        • Competent IT skills including databases, spreadsheets and email
