Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist (3 roles)

Salary: £37.44 per hour (Umbrella)

Job overview:

 

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is seeking three experienced Senior Occupational Therapists to join Adult Social Care services. These are community-based roles focused on promoting independence, reviewing care arrangements, and delivering high-quality, strengths-based Occupational Therapy interventions.

 

Roles available:

 

  •  
  • Role 1: Occupational Therapist – Home Adaptation Team
     

  • Role 2 & 3: Occupational Therapists – Adults Occupational Therapy Team

 

One post will have a specific focus on reviewing double-handed packages of care, supporting safe reductions where appropriate and promoting independence.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  •  
  • Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments within service users’ own homes
     

  • Review and evaluate existing care packages, including double-handed care, with a focus on maximising independence
     

  • Assess for and recommend equipment and adaptations to support safe and effective daily living
     

  • Apply strengths-based and person-centred approaches in line with Care Act principles
     

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary Adult Social Care team
     

  • Manage and prioritise a varied caseload, progressing cases efficiently and safely
     

  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with council policies and statutory requirements

 

Skills and experience required:

 

  •  
  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
     

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience
     

  • Proven experience working within Adult Social Services (not hospital-only experience)
     

  • Strong experience of completing community-based assessments in people’s own homes
     

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act
     

  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a team environment

 

Working arrangements:

 

  •  
  • Flexible hybrid working model
     

  • 2 days per week office-based
     

  • 3 days per week remote working
