Job overview:
An experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist is required for a short-term
locum assignment within an acute hospital setting. The post holder will work as part of the
ward-based multidisciplinary team, supporting patient assessment, treatment and discharge
planning.
Main duties and responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality occupational therapy or physiotherapy assessment and intervention to acute hospital inpatients
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support patient flow and timely discharge
- Manage a ward-based caseload, prioritising clinical needs appropriately
- Carry out functional assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to patient needs
- Contribute to discharge planning, including recommendations for ongoing therapy, equipment or support
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
Skills and experience required:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Essential recent ward-based experience within an acute hospital setting
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
