Job details:

 

Motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist required to join the Adult Social Care Early Intervention OT Team.
This role sits within a short-term intervention service currently in its pilot phase, working with adults to prevent, reduce, or delay the need for ongoing adult social care.

 

The service focuses on empowering individuals to approach daily activities differently by delivering high-quality, person-centred, and timely interventions that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing within their own homes.

 

  •  
    • Provide holistic Occupational Therapy assessments with a focus on prevention and early intervention
       

    • Support individuals to maximise independence using functional and adaptive techniques
       

    • Promote reablement approaches and minimise reliance on equipment where appropriate
       

    • Assess for and provide equipment, adaptations, and technology-enabled care solutions when necessary
       

    • Support individuals to access community resources and build long-term resilience and wellbeing
       

    • Work within a short-term intervention model, ensuring people are connected to the most appropriate services when further support is required
       

    • Work as part of the Principal Occupational Therapy Team, reporting to the Early Intervention OT Team Manager
       

    • Manage a city-wide caseload, requiring travel across Manchester

     

    Skills / experience:

     

    •  
      • Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration
         

      • Strong understanding of functional assessment and adaptive techniques
         

      • Experience in reablement, equipment and adaptations, and technology-enabled care
         

      • Experience working within Adult Social Care settings
         

      • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
         

      • Full UK driving licence – car driver essential due to city-wide role

       

      Working hours:

      35 hours per week

      Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 16.30

      Office presence required between community visits, with some home working supported
