Job Details
Speech and Language Therapist required to start ASAP for an initial 3-month contract. The role is based in mainstream schools within the borough and focuses on delivering specialist speech and language therapy services to children and young people.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with complex speech, language and communication needs, and dysphagia where relevant.
- Support parents, school staff and other professionals in all aspects of client management.
- Assess needs, develop and implement specialist SLT treatment programmes for children in mainstream schools.
- Provide advice and guidance to others regarding the management and care of children with communication difficulties.
- Be accountable for own professional practice, recognising professional boundaries and seeking senior advice when appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, peer review and second opinions for less experienced colleagues and students.
- Deliver in-service training independently to school staff and other professionals.
- Demonstrate well-developed specialist skills in an area of speech, language and communication needs within a school-aged caseload.
- Liaise effectively with colleagues across statutory and non-statutory agencies as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
Skills & Experience

- Experience working in mainstream school settings.
- Experience completing EHCNAs and delivering provision in line with EHCP requirements.
- Knowledge of the whole systems approach.
- HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
Additional Information
A driving licence is not required for this role.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 17.00.
