Brief Job Overview
An urgent requirement has arisen for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 7) to join Frimley Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at Frimley Park Hospital. This role contributes to the provision, coordination, and ongoing development of occupational therapy services within a defined clinical area, supporting high-quality rehabilitation and discharge-focused care.
You will play a key role in supporting service delivery, supervising junior staff, and contributing to the operational and administrative functions of the Occupational Therapy Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery, coordination, and development of occupational therapy services within your specialist area.
- Provide senior clinical occupational therapy input, supporting rehabilitation and effective discharge planning.
- Assist with the training, supervision, and development of junior occupational therapists and students.
- Support manual handling assessments and interventions in line with best practice.
- Participate in administrative and service-related functions within the OT department.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and professional standards.
About You
You will be an experienced and confident Occupational Therapist with a strong background in hospital-based practice. You will bring sound clinical judgement, leadership capability, and a collaborative approach to supporting both patients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration (essential).
- Experience working as an Occupational Therapist within a UK hospital setting.
- Strong experience in manual handling, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.
- Ability to supervise, support, and develop junior staff and students.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
Contract & Working Pattern
- Locum contract – ongoing
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
- Competitive rate – £negotiable
- Based at Frimley Park Hospital
