Senior Occupational Therapist (Locum)

 

Location: London Borough of Harrow

Area: North West London Social Services

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (initial 3 months)

 

Role Overview

 

An experienced Senior Occupational Therapist is required for a 3-month locum assignment within the Integrated Front Door Service at the London Borough of Harrow. This role sits at the first point of contact for Adult Social Care and plays a key role in timely assessment, triage and intervention to support independence and prevent escalation.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide senior-level occupational therapy input within the Integrated Front Door service.
  • Undertake assessments to support timely decision-making and appropriate onward pathways.
  • Apply strengths-based and preventative approaches to promote independence.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across health and social care.
  • Offer professional advice, guidance and clinical reasoning on complex cases.
  • Support effective triage, prioritisation and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with council policies and statutory requirements.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within Adult Social Care.
  • Experience working at a senior level, ideally within front door, duty or triage services.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
