Brief Job Overview

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the acute inpatient team based in Lewisham. This role supports the assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning of patients with acute medical and respiratory needs within a busy NHS hospital environment.

Flexible working patterns may be considered for suitably experienced clinicians, offering an opportunity to tailor hours while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation for patients with an acute medical caseload.
• Deliver acute respiratory physiotherapy interventions in line with clinical best practice.
• Contribute to effective and timely discharge planning to support patient flow.
• Manage and prioritise a varied inpatient caseload in a fast-paced environment.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NHS standards.

About You

You will be a confident and adaptable Physiotherapist with experience working in acute NHS settings. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills, particularly in respiratory and medical rehabilitation, and be comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a team.
 

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy.
• HCPC registration (essential).
• Experience assessing and rehabilitating acute medical inpatients.
• Competence in delivering acute respiratory physiotherapy.
• Experience supporting discharge planning within an NHS hospital setting.
• Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills.

Contract & Working Pattern

• Locum contract – ongoing
• 37.5 hours per week
• Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
