About the Role

Wigan Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Early Intervention Integrated Services, covering Reablement, Equipment and Adaptations, and Assistive Technology. Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and support individuals experiencing difficulties with activities of daily living and reduced independence.
  • Provide highly specialised assessment, treatment and management for adults with physical, learning or mental health needs.
  • Utilise a range of solutions to promote independence, including reablement programmes, assistive technology, equipment and adaptations.
  • Assess and manage paediatric cases involving babies, children and young people with complex physical, developmental and learning needs.
  • Recommend and support the provision of adaptations for adults and children where compensatory approaches are required.
  • Formulate and implement intervention plans to reduce the impact of disability and increase independence.
  • Work collaboratively with Advanced Practitioner OTs and wider MDT colleagues to deliver integrated services.
  • Adopt a personalised, asset-based approach, supporting engagement in local community resources.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and contribute to outcome-based recommendations.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within Early Intervention, Reablement, Equipment and Adaptations and/or Assistive Technology services.
  • Experience with both adult and paediatric caseloads.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within an integrated MDT.
  • Commitment to personalised, asset-based practice.

An excellent part-time opportunity to deliver high-impact occupational therapy across a diverse and rewarding caseload.
