Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (12-month pilot)

 

About the Role

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to support a 12-month pilot within Transitional Services, working with young people aged 18–25 who present with neurodiversity and may have experienced trauma. This is a countywide role requiring travel across the authority, offering hybrid working arrangements.

 

You will work as a second practitioner on complex cases, contributing specialist assessment and intervention to support positive outcomes during the transition to adulthood.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for young people aged 18–25 within transitional services.
  • Work with individuals presenting with neurodiversity and complex needs, including trauma-informed practice.
  • Undertake assessments across the whole local authority area, including home and community visits.
  • Act as the second practitioner on complex cases, contributing specialist input and clinical reasoning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across social care, health and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to the development, evaluation and learning of the 12-month pilot service.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with local authority and professional standards.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Sensory Integration (essential).
  • Experience working with young people and/or adults with neurodiversity.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Strong assessment, analytical and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and travel across the authority.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.

 

Working Hours

 

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
