Occupational Therapist (Locum)

 

Location: Cheshire East Council – Macclesfield Town Hall

Area: North West Social Services

Rate: £25.18 per hour (umbrella, negotiable)

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

About the Role

 

Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support the Community Adult Teams on a locum basis, providing cover for a secondment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions within adult social care, with particular emphasis on moving and handling.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake occupational therapy assessments for adults in the community.
  • Complete moving and handling assessments to promote safe practice and independence.
  • Recommend appropriate equipment and interventions in line with assessed needs.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Maintain accurate case records in line with local authority and professional standards.
  • Support the Community Adult Teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within adult social care.
  • Proven experience in moving and handling assessments.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a community-based caseload.
