Location: NELFT – Grays Court Community Hospital / Goodmayes Hospital

Area: North East London NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (Winter Pressures)

 

About the Role

 

North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Intensive Rehabilitation & Therapy Service. This role supports winter pressures and focuses on delivering high-quality community rehabilitation, including independent assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients with complex needs.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake independent assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients within the community rehabilitation team.
  • Use recognised outcome measures and sound clinical reasoning to guide treatment planning.
  • Manage and prioritise your own caseload confidently and autonomously.
  • Deliver patient-centred rehabilitation interventions to support recovery and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and timely discharges.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC standards.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Post-qualification experience within the NHS.
  • Experience working in community and/or rehabilitation settings (preferred).
  • Strong clinical reasoning and caseload management skills.
  • Confidence working independently in a community environment.
  • Car driver essential due to community-based role.

 

Working Hours

 

  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Shift pattern: 08:30 – 16:30.
  • Part-time working considered (minimum 3 days / 22.5 hours), dependent on experience.
  • Agile working arrangements in place.
