Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Locum)
Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join the Bi Borough Inclusion Service across Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, within Central London Social Services. This locum role is due to start in January 2026 and will run until the end of August 2026, with the potential for review and extension. You will work as part of a supportive team of eight Occupational Therapists, delivering statutory occupational therapy provision to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across mainstream schools. Structured CPD, peer supervision, and clinical supervision are provided.
Key Responsibilities

- Deliver statutory Occupational Therapy provision to children and young people aged 5–20 with SEN across mainstream school settings.
- Complete functional assessments and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) provision.
- Provide targeted interventions, including small group work, to support pupils’ engagement in education and daily school activities.
- Deliver universal training to school staff to promote inclusive practice and build capacity.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers, and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Autonomously manage a varied paediatric caseload in line with professional standards.
- Actively participate in CPD, peer supervision, and formal clinical supervision.
About You
You are a confident and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist with experience working in UK school settings. You will ideally have strong knowledge of EHCP provision and experience supporting children and young people with complex physical health needs. You bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to improving educational and functional outcomes for pupils with SEN.
Requirements

- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
- Ideally, previous experience in UK mainstream schools with EHCP provision.
- Knowledge of complex physical health needs and appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
- Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider multidisciplinary team.
Contract & Salary
