Occupational Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

 

Location: Nobles Hospital

Area: Isle of Man NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

About the Role

 

Nobles Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their acute inpatient services. The successful candidate will support both acute medical and orthopaedic wards, contributing to high-quality patient care and timely MDT discharge planning. This post is available to start as soon as possible.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions within acute medical and orthopaedic ward settings.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support efficient and safe discharge planning.
  • Manage a complex and varied caseload, promoting independence and functional recovery.
  • Apply clinical knowledge in supporting patients with cardiac conditions (beneficial).
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate goal-focused rehabilitation programmes tailored to patient needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record keeping in line with HCPC and NHS standards.

 

Requirements

 

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in acute medical and/or orthopaedic wards.
  • Knowledge of managing patients with cardiac conditions is advantageous.
  • Strong MDT working, communication and discharge planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage clinical priorities effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

 

Working Hours

 

  • Up to 37.5 hours per week.
