About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the 24/7 multidisciplinary Psychiatric Physical Complexity Pathway (PPCU). Covering both the Female Treatment and Male Treatment wards, this role focuses on supporting patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises alongside significant physical health complexities related to ageing or illness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, deliver and evaluate high-quality occupational therapy interventions within an acute psychiatric and physical health setting.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe, therapeutic and recovery-focused ward environment.
  • Carry out holistic assessments addressing both mental and physical health needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote functional recovery, engagement and independence.
  • Work collaboratively within a 24/7 multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and person-centred care.
  • Engage and collaborate with carers, families and external professionals to support patient wellbeing.
  • Contribute to pathway and ward-based initiatives that enhance service quality and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HCPC and Trust requirements.
  • Travel between multiple acute sites across Coventry and Warwickshire as required.

Requirements

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in acute mental health, complex care, or similar clinical environments.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills across both physical and mental health presentations.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between sites.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
