Community Occupational Therapist – Band 7 (Locum)

Location: Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Area: North West NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (initial 4 weeks)

About the Role

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Community Occupational Therapist to join their community services on a short-term locum basis. This role involves delivering high-quality assessments and interventions within patients’ homes and local community settings, supporting independence and functional recovery.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist community-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Manage a varied caseload independently, delivering care within patients’ homes and local environments.
  • Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans to support functional independence and rehabilitation.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, carers and external agencies to coordinate effective care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and Trust standards.
  • Promote safe, effective discharge planning and ongoing self-management where appropriate.

Requirements

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience working within community OT services.
  • Access to a car and ability to travel across the community.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and caseload management skills.
  • Excellent communication and MDT collaboration skills.

Working Hours

  • Full-time hours (community-based).
