Job Title: Lead Pharmacist(Locum Role) Band: 8B
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Pharmacist to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across Planned and Critical Care services.
The postholder will ensure the delivery of a safe, effective, and high-quality pharmacy service, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across both hospital sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior pharmaceutical leadership within Planned and Critical Care services.
Oversee and support clinical pharmacy teams to ensure high standards of patient care.
Lead on service development, quality improvement, and governance initiatives.
Contribute to policy development, clinical pathways, and medicines optimisation strategies.
Offer expert advice to clinicians and managers on medicine use, safety, and best practice.
Support workforce development, supervision, and training of pharmacy staff.
Work effectively across both Epsom and St Helier sites as service needs require.
Requirements:
Registered pharmacist with the GPhC.
Extensive experience in acute hospital pharmacy, ideally within critical care or planned care settings.
Strong leadership, communication, and service improvement skills.
Ability to work autonomously and manage cross-site responsibilities.
