Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Specialist Physiotherapist to join the CMAT Spinal Specialist Service at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board – Ysbyty Glan Clwyd within the North Wales NHS. This locum role involves providing expert physiotherapy assessment and treatment for highly complex patients presenting with both acute and routine spinal conditions. You will play a key role in delivering advanced clinical care and supporting patients through tailored rehabilitation programmes.
Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for patients with complex spinal presentations, including acute and chronic conditions.
- Develop and deliver specialist treatment plans informed by advanced MSK clinical reasoning and best practice guidelines.
- Work collaboratively within the CMAT spinal multidisciplinary team, contributing specialist knowledge to support effective clinical decision-making.
- Provide expert advice to patients, carers, and colleagues on spinal health, rehabilitation, and self-management strategies.
- Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adapt interventions based on clinical presentation and patient goals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in line with HCPC and NHS standards.
- Support service development initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of specialist spinal care.
About You
You are an advanced and confident MSK Physiotherapist with specialist experience in managing complex spinal caseloads. You have strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills and are comfortable working with patients presenting with diverse spinal conditions. Your excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to evidence-based practice will make you a valued member of the spinal specialist team.
Requirements

- Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Extensive MSK clinical experience, including work with complex spinal patients.
- Advanced clinical reasoning skills and confidence in autonomous practice.
- Experience working within specialist spinal or MSK services.
- Strong documentation, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care.
