Pharmacy Technician / Pharmacy Support Worker (Band 4–6)
Role Summary
We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Support Worker, with the role banded between 4 and 6, depending on job title and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate medicines reconciliation on admission and discharge, working collaboratively with the clinical pharmacy team.
Support dispensing activities in both the dispensary and on wards, working within Trust-standard operating procedures.
Assist with stock management, ward top-up, and controlled drug handling, ensuring patient safety and adherence to pharmacy governance.
Provide high-quality customer service to patients and healthcare staff, ensuring medicines are used safely and correctly.
Participate in the Trust’s ongoing training and professional development opportunities, supported by a dedicated Pharmacy Education & Training team.
Person Specification
Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is essential.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident liaising with staff across wards, pharmacy, and other clinical teams.
Basic IT skills and ability to navigate pharmacy systems (e.g., Ascribe, JAC) is desirable.
Commitment to patient safety, medicines governance, and continuous professional development.
