About the Role
An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the acute adult ward team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This ongoing locum role focuses on the assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, with dysphagia experience being essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for adults on acute wards.
- Deliver dysphagia assessment and management as a key part of the role.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective patient care.
- Contribute to discharge planning and offer specialist recommendations for ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and Trust standards.
- Support the development and delivery of high-quality speech and language therapy services within the acute setting.
Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Essential experience in dysphagia management for adults.
- Previous experience in acute care environments.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage a full-time caseload independently.
Working Hours
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30, with flexible working options.
