Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (London Borough of Bexley)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **London Borough of Bexley Children’s Services**. This role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring children’s voices are central to all planning and interventions.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload, including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children. You will work closely with children, young people, and their families, alongside partner agencies, to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality support.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.
Develop, implement, and review child-focused care and protection plans.
Manage a caseload including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children cases.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.
Work directly with children, young people, and families to build positive, supportive, and trusting relationships.
Collaborate with schools, health professionals, police, and voluntary organisations to deliver effective multi-agency support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case recording in line with legislation and Bexley Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.

You are a resilient and motivated social worker with a passion for safeguarding children and supporting families. You can balance a varied caseload, work effectively with multi-agency partners, and ensure children’s needs and safety remain the priority.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Children’s Services (caseloads matched to your level of experience).
Knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Strong assessment, planning, and report-writing skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and with external partners.
