Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed, evidence-based reports to inform EHC plans and multidisciplinary recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, health professionals, parents, and carers to promote children’s participation and independence.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary team discussions, offering clinical insight and professional expertise.
  • Manage and prioritise your caseload efficiently, maintaining accurate records in line with NHS and Trust standards.
  • Ensure all interventions align with current occupational therapy best practice and HCPC professional standards.

About You

You are a confident and experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in paediatrics, particularly in supporting children within educational settings. You have an excellent understanding of EHC processes, child development, and sensory or functional assessments.

You take pride in delivering thorough assessments, high-quality reports, and person-centred interventions. Your communication, analytical, and collaborative skills allow you to work effectively across multi-agency environments to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Requirements

  • BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven post-qualification experience working with children and young people (0–19).
  • Strong experience of completing EHC needs assessments and mainstream school-based assessments.
  • Excellent knowledge of paediatric occupational therapy practice, child development, and sensory integration principles.
