Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (London Borough of Sutton)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **London Borough of Sutton Children’s Services team**. This role focuses on safeguarding and supporting children, young people, and families, ensuring their safety and wellbeing through high-quality social work practice.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload that includes children in need, child protection, and looked-after children. You will work directly with families and collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver effective, child-centred interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.
Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans that keep children at the centre.
Manage a caseload including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children cases.
Prepare and present evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.
Work directly with children, young people, and families to build positive and supportive relationships.
Collaborate with schools, health services, police, and voluntary organisations to deliver coordinated support.
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant case recording in line with legislation and Sutton Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision, team meetings, and training to support your professional development.

You are a motivated and resilient social worker with a strong commitment to safeguarding children and supporting families. You can manage a varied caseload, balance competing priorities, and maintain a child-centred approach in all areas of practice.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Children’s Services (placements will be matched to your experience level).
Good knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
