Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children and families to develop and implement effective Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans.
  • Conduct visits, direct work, and assessments to build relationships and understand family dynamics.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners to coordinate safeguarding responses and ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and present findings at child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
  • Manage a complex caseload effectively, maintaining high standards of professional practice and timely case recording.
  • Promote positive change by empowering families to build on their strengths and develop sustainable support networks.
  • Participate in reflective supervision and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance practice.

About You

You are a skilled, reflective, and resilient social worker with strong assessment, planning, and relationship-building skills. You are passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families and are confident managing complex caseloads within statutory children’s social care. You thrive in a team environment and demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment in all aspects of your work.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Substantial experience working in Children’s Social Care, including safeguarding, assessments, and court work.
  • Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and related legislation.
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-agency frameworks to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable with excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining high standards of practice.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.
