  • Ensure safeguarding enquiries are carried out proportionately, effectively, and in partnership with adults, families, and partner agencies.
  • Provide professional supervision, support, and guidance to social workers undertaking safeguarding work.
  • Chair multi-agency safeguarding meetings and case conferences, ensuring effective risk management and outcome-focused decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with health, police, housing, and other agencies to promote best practice and ensure timely and coordinated responses.
  • Support the team in embedding safeguarding policy, procedures, and learning from reviews or audits into everyday practice.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to service development, training, and quality assurance initiatives to strengthen safeguarding practice.

About You

You are a confident and knowledgeable social work professional with a strong background in adult safeguarding and complex case management. You demonstrate leadership, sound professional judgement, and a commitment to ensuring adults at risk are protected through robust, person-centred practice. You are skilled at working collaboratively, leading enquiries, and mentoring colleagues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions.

  • Experience acting as a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) and/or Lead Enquiry Officer.
  • Thorough understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Safeguarding Adults statutory duties.
  • Strong decision-making, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities, including chairing and presenting at multi-agency meetings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework and promote partnership-based practice.
